How do I apply for borrowing privleges at JKM?

If you are currently affiliated with McCormick or LSTC:

1. Visit the circulation desk in the LSTC east wing, present your McCormick or LSTC i.d. and complete an application for borrowing privileges.
2. Circulation staff will affix a JKM Library barcode to your LSTC or McCormick i.d. This 14-digit barcode number is your library account number, which you can use to request materials from the stacks, check due dates, blocks, etc.
3. Library privileges expire annually. If you move, change your email address or telephone number, change your affiliation with LSTC or McCormick, please contact the JKM circulation desk at 773.256.0739 or jkmcirculation @jkmlibrary.org within 7 days.

If you are a McCormick or LSTC alumnus/alumna:

1. If you still have your LSTC or McCormick i.d. with a JKM Library barcode, contact the JKM circulation desk at 773.256.0739 or jkmcirculation@jkmlibrary.org and update your account information.
2. If you do not have a JKM Library barcode affixed to your LSTC or McCormick i.d., contact the JKM circulation desk at 773.256.0739 or jkmcirculation@jkmlibrary.org, and circulation staff will send you an application for borrowing privileges. Complete the form, sign it, and return it to the library.  The library will create a paper borrower's card and send it to you via USPS. This 14-digit barcode number is your library account number, which you can use to request materials from the stacks, check due dates, blocks, etc.
3. Library privileges expire annually. If you move, change your email address or telephone number, please contact the JKM circulation desk at 773.256.0738 or jkmcirculation@jkmlibrary.org within 7 days.

If you are currently affiliated with one of the Association of Chicago Theological Schools (ACTS):

1. Visit the circulation desk in the LSTC east wing, present your school i.d. and a current ACTS borrower's card (cards expire either 30 June or 31 December). Contact your school's library to get an ACTS borrower's card. The ACTS borrower's card must be presented in order for privileges to be granted.
2. Complete an application for borrowing privileges.
3. Circulation staff will affix a JKM Library barcode to your school i.d. or a paper borrower's card. This 14-digit barcode number is your library account number, which you can use to request materials from the stacks, check due dates, blocks, etc.
4. Library privileges expire either on 30 June or 31 December. If you move, change your email address or telephone number, school status, please contact the JKM circulation desk at 773.256.0738 or jkmcirculation@jkmlibrary.org within 7 days.

If you are currently affiliated with the University of Chicago:

1. Visit the circulation desk in the LSTC east wing and present your University of Chicago i.d.
2. Complete an application for borrowing privileges.
3. Circulation staff will affix a JKM Library barcode to your school i.d. or a paper borrower's card. This 14-digit barcode number is your library account number, which you can use to request materials from the stacks, check due dates, blocks, etc.
4. Library privileges expire annually. If you move, change your email address or telephone number, change your affiliation with the University of Chicago, please contact the JKM circulation desk at 773.256.0739 or jkmcirculation@jkmlibrary.org within 7 days.
