How can I access library materials at JKM?

The JKM Library has a wide variety of resources available for LSTC and McCormick students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

If you are currently affiliated with McCormick or LSTC, including cross-registered students:

Our licensed digital resources are available 24/7/365 through our website or through Primo, our catalog. The McCormick and LSTC registrars share all new students, faculty, and staff with JKM at the start of each semester - you should automatically receive access to JKM Library when you join McCormick or LSTC.  If you do not receive a welcome email from us at the start of your first semester, please contact us from your school email at ihaveaquestion@jkmlibrary.org, and we will get you set up with everything you need.

If you need a scan of an article or chapter, you can place a document delivery request (although turnaround time will take longer) either by using the ‘Click here to request a scanned copy of an article or essay/chapter’ function in the databases or sending an email with complete bibliographic information to ihaveaquestion@jkmlibrary.org.

In order to borrow print books and other hardcopy resources, you have two options:

·         requesting them from JKM or one the other 90+ I-Share libraries, which is done by logging into Primo with your OpenAthens credentials and placing a request for pickup; or,

·         borrowing them in person from the Regenstein Library of the University of Chicago (1100 E. 57th Street, just one mile away from the LSTC/McCormick campus)

While limited in our ability to fulfill all requests, you are always welcome to suggest a book that might be purchased in e-format by contacting library staff at ihaveaquestion@jkmlibrary.org.

As noted above, individuals currently affiliated with McCormick or LSTC enjoy access to the University of Chicago library system, and we encourage all our users to acquaint themselves with their extraordinary resources.

If you are a McCormick or LSTC alumna/alumnus:

Welcome back, alumni! Unfortunately we’re unable to extend access to the resources of the University of Chicago libraries to our alumni, but we will continue to provide access to the Atla Religion Database with Atla Serials PLUS, and the Anchor Yale Bible and Anchor Yale Bible Dictionary in electronic format. Please contact ihaveaquestion@jkmlibrary.org, and we can send you alumni resource privileges.

If you are currently affiliated with the University of Chicago:

Welcome, UChicago students, staff, and faculty!  Please reach out to ihaveaquestion@jkmlibrary.org, and we can get you started.
